the one-eyed mother
My mom only had one eye.I hated her...
she was such an embarrassment...
She cooked for students & teachers...to support the family.
There was one occasion during elementary school and my mom came.
I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me?
I threw her a hateful look and ran out.

The next day at school...
"Your mom only has one eye?!?!"...eeeee said a friend.
I wished my mom would just disappear from this world.
So I said to my mom, "Mom... Why don't you have the other eye?!
If you're only going to make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die?!!!"

My mom did not respond...
I guess I felt a little bad,
but at the same time,
it felt good to think
think
that I had said what I'd wanted to say all this time...
Maybe it was! because my mom hadn't punished me,
but I didn't think that I had hurt her feelings very badly.

That night...
I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
My mom was crying there,
so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might wake me.
I took a look at her, and then turned away.
Because of the thing I had said to her earlier,
there was something pinching
pinching at me in the corner of my heart.
Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of her one eye.
So I told myself that I would grow up and become successful.

Then I studied real hard.
I left my mother and went to Singapore to study.
Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own.

Then I had kids, too...
Now I'm living happily as a successful man.
I like it here because it's a place that doesn't remind me of my mom.
This happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when...

What?! Who's this?!
It was my mother...Still with her one eye.
I felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me.
Even my children ran away, scared of my mom's eye.
And I asked her, "Who are you?!" "I don't know you!!!"
as if trying to make that real.
I screamed at her,
"How dare you come to my house and scare my children!!"
'GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!"
And to this, my mother quietly answered,
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,"
and she disappeared out of sight.

Thank good ness...
She doesn't recognize me.
I was quite relieved.
I told myself that I wasn't going to care,
Or think about this for the rest of my life.
Then a wave of relief came upon me...

One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house in Singapore.
So, lying to my wife that I was going on a business trip, I went.
After the reunion, I went down to the old shack,
that I used to call a house... Just out of curiosity

There, I found my mother fallen on the cold ground.
But I did not shed a single tear.She had a piece of paper in her hand....
It was a letter to me.

"My son...
I think my life has been long enough now...
And... I wont visit Singapore anymore...
But would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit me once in a while?
I miss you so much..
And I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I decided not to go to the school.

For you......
And.....I'm sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an embarrassment for you.

You see, when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye.
As a mom, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with only one eye...
So I gave you mine...
I was so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me,
in my place, with that eye.
I was never upset at you for anything you did..
The couple times that you were angry with me..


I thought to myself,
'It's because he loves me..

'My son... Oh, my son...

i read this until i cried..
yupps..

just want to say to mi parents..
"daddy,mummy..i love you!!!sorry for being an unfillial daughter"

haha.i'm home immediately after skool finally fer the first time this yr..
clapps hands..
just watched mr bean 1hr ago..
so funny..he so stupid..stupider and funnier ten mi..haha..
colllected the photos i took fer NDP,racial harmony and campfire..
but some of them came out in the negatives dark dark..so dun have those..
i look funny..
and i look nerdy too..
so now i noe how i look in skool..
like some toodd..[haha]
anyway..suppose to be studying now but currently doing mi NYAA report..
nvm..shall study later..
EYE eng is this fri..
EYE chi is next wed..
soon the rest..
haha..oh mann..
i cant believe that i'm still slacking even NOW..

haiz..i'm so red..and i look like a cooked lobster..
went joo seng to play bball with bro frens from 11 to 2 plus..
haha..was the only girl there..[as usual]
cos i cant stop myself from playing such boyish activity[like wad mi mother says]
haha..anyways saw sining and her sis after playing..on the way to lunch..

ate laksa..the mian was SOUR..
it was so weird that the soup became sour..
hungry as i was..i realised it was spoilt after a few scoops of noodles..
apparently..our taste buds were spoilt too..
so the uncle cooked another bowl fer us..
so hope i dun get food poisoning as mi stomach feels weird..

haha..now currently doing amaths..haha..ITS FUN..but tricky..anyways gtg..bye

haha..YEAh!!
we[mi and cheong keet] got back the long lost receiptfrom chinatown..yepps!!
[for dragonfly knots].yeah..from chinatown..
we ten ate at macs..
i went to the toilet..
tried hard to flush..
press the knob 5 times..
ten it went hibernating..
5sec later..a gush of water came..
flushed the contents down into the sewage..
anyways..
the counter guy was super polite to us..
he was smilling all the way..saying..

"wad do you wish to order,ma'm"
"do you wish to purchased a mc chicken burger fer $2"
"but i think student meal is much more cheaper"

.
"the total amt is $... ma'm"
"here's your change ma'm and your burger will be delivered to you"

haha..was tinking..wad a gentleman..haha..when we went out..he smiled too..haha..

anyway..now i'm printing notes[24 documents] ..so shall blog in the mean time..

had an INTERESTing history and amaths lesson today..

during hist..
miss Lizah was complaining that our markers were useless..
she went on a marker searching craze..ten she found this purple one..
using THAT marker..she went on going thru your ss source based..
[the whole board was filled with her writing]
haha..guess wad happen..

THAT marker was permanent marker..
she tried to erase as hard as possible but she din not succeed
so she told us to erase off later..with turpentine[so mi and yurong went 'HUH']
ten she went off..telling mr suresh the BAD news..

mr suresh came in to teach us amaths..trigo..
when he heard that the board was filled with permanent ink he went
'so we have to use an alternative methods today'
he cont was ms Lizah used which was the visualisar..
so he had to write at the same time teach on a tiny piece of paper..
poor thing..

anyway..we rubbed it off during recess..help abit..haha..pitied shimin and wanling..
they rubbed untill so xin ku..later go toilet no soap..so cannot washed the black ink..
anyway..one of the duster spoilt..the surface became shiny..haha..gRIns

6documents to go..yeah..

anyways..exams are really coming soon..
in fact..i'm in self-denial..
keep thinking that exam is 1mth away..
oki i'm crazy..
but i'm not in the mood to study..
BUT i will get the feel of it soon..once i start revising..
oki..i shall be positive..I LOVE EXAMS!!!xP

haha..fear factor is sick..i forgot wad they eat..think is was caterpillar..but it was super gross..haha..anyway i doubt i will join it unless i in need of money big time..haha..

shall find uses fer it..

making sure that our robot overcomes stage-fright..

haha..great job ppl..though many things went wrong it was still oki as your generally were able to solve the probs[onli that our robot had stage-fright].ya..so dun give up oki..anyway i have faith in you ppl that you will be able to succeed one day..maybe not in terms of positioning and points..but in terms of being able to grasp the knowledge of builing and programming..haha..anyway i look fwd in working fer FRS next yr with you ppl..HOPEFULLY..we be able to succeed..anyway sry fer not being able to help your so much in this competition..anyway..cheerup ppl..there is still next yr..

boarded the 155 bus at 8pm??
bus went..
few seconds later bus stopped..
up came a man[grandson] carrying [the lullaby baby way] an frail old women[his ah ma i tink] who was still wearing hospital clothes..
he went down and took a wheelchair up the bus..
mi heart went "wow" could feel tears in mi heart..it was such a touching scene..where great LOVE is involve..
later that guy carried the wheelchair down the bus..
he went up and carried his ah ma down..ten wheeled her home.

haha.din have time to blog fer a long long time.
anyways i'm back.so ''hi''

haha.anyway..
it was mi uncle bdae on the 2nd sept.
mi bro bdae ytd[5th]
and mi aunts bdae on the 7th[coming soon]
haha.so..2+5=7
cool rite.

anyway i was a bad sister.kept saying to mi bro..

"hey..today not your bdae..tmr is ten your bdae..tmr is then 5th sept..so today is sunday not monday.."

he went..

"yar yar..rite.."

anyway..it was kinda fun teasing him..haha..lolx..14th liao..now spike hair[so ugly]..haha..got so much muscles..even stronger ten mi..lolx..and a few cm taller[boohoo] so now i'm jumping everyday to catch up with him..

anyway he was so bored till he folded starts..STARS..haha..almost got a shock when he did that cos i nv knew he knew how to fold stars..anyway he star went flat..haha..so..its looks like a pancake..haha..

lolx.celebrated his bdae with icecreams..k you believe it..no candles no cake..but ice cream..haha..anyway the company cheated us..half of the box was filled with ice..ICE..yes..i mean it..lolx..damm cheater lolx..so when we eating the icecream..it was mostly ice..ten the ice was so hard that it sorta cracked our teeth..lolx..cheat our money mann..

lolx..mi music exam 13sept.haiz.lolx.so been trying mi best to motivate miself to practise.i cannot fail liao.no way mann.if i do i have to stop.lolx.and i dun want it to happen.anyway mi dad dismantled the new com..so cannot play maple anymore.haha.its a good thing too la come to think of it.haha.anyway.i'm trying to change from being negative to a positive person.hope you ppl k help mi.cos being negative is not a good sign.cos i want to be HAPPY.
